HBO seems to have finally gotten their fixation on the Targaryens. Another Game of Thrones spin-off is in the works, and as you might guess, it will once again focus on the silver-haired, fireproof characters.
HBO's head of department Francesca Orsi confirmed that the new project is already in the works. Details are scarce, but all you need to know has already been said: this is another story about the Targaryens. HBO is clearly betting on this dynasty, but will viewers be interested in it?
Is House of the Dragon boring yet?
The second season of House of the Dragon has received, to put it mildly, mixed reviews. Unlike the first part, where at least something happened, in the new season, the intrigue and the Targaryen war turned into endless dialogues and a minimum number of events.

Minimum action, maximum dialogue, criminally few dragons and this is considered the main fantasy show of our time?
What stories would you really like to see?
If you're going to expand the world of Westeros, why not try something new? Fans would be much more excited about:
- A series about the First Men and the Children of the Forest — that mythical period when the White Walkers first appeared and there was a real fight for survival.
- A prequel about Braavos and the secrets of the Iron Bank — a serious political intrigue with elements of a spy thriller.
- The story of Robert Baratheon's rebellion is one of the most important chapters in the history of Westeros, which leads up to the events of Game of Thrones.

But HBO decided otherwise. More Targaryens, more palace conspiracies, which we've already seen ten times. Maybe we'll get lucky this time, but there's a feeling that Groundhog Day is continuing in Westeros.
