Unlike Igor: 'Anora's Yuri Borisov Is a True Fun-Loving Guy on Set

legion-media.ru — Yuriy Borisov

You would never imagine what he's capable of outside his character.

Yuri Borisov rocks behind the scenes of Anora. The Russian actor, with his energy and impressive dance moves, couldn’t help but captivate the crew members.

Recently, actor Vache Tovmasyan, who played the role of Garnik in Anora, shared a post on Instagram from the film's set. In the video, Russian actor Yuri Borisov energetically dances to song ‘Molniya’ ('Lightning') by Russian singer Dima Bilan. Behind the scenes, Mikey Madison can be seen smiling, clearly watching Yuri with admiration. Director Sean Baker is also visibly enjoying the moment, nodding in approval and giving a thumbs up to Yuri. Meanwhile, Vache Tovmasyan raises his shoulders in surprise.

The subscribers were captivated by the funny video.

“Find someone looking at me like Mikey looks at Yura,” one of them commented. Others appreciated the atmosphere on set: “I could imagine the set having so many of these fun moments. I like that you all had fun behind the scenes too.” Some subscribers even expressed interest in the song playing in the background: “What song is used in this video?"

Interestingly, Yuri’s character in the film, Igor, is a man of few words, sad and thoughtful. He has very few lines in the film, but his character plays a key role in the recovery of justice. His quiet demeanor and inner complexity make him an essential part of the story.

It's worth-mentioning, that Anora won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival and received several Golden Globe nominations, including Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Picture, and Best Director. Furthermore, the film’s success continues to grow. For the upcoming Oscars, Anora is set to receive six nominations, including Yuri Borisov for Best Supporting Actor, Mikey Madison for Best Actress, and Sean Baker for Best Director. The film is also nominated for the coveted Best Picture award.
