Universal has unveiled the first full trailer for the live-action adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon, bringing a fresh yet faithful reimagining of DreamWorks Animation’s beloved 2010 film. Premiering during the Super Bowl, the trailer showcases the epic journey of Hiccup (Mason Thames) and Toothless, the Night Fury dragon, as they defy centuries of Viking tradition and forge an unbreakable bond.
A Story of Friendship and Defiance
Set on the Isle of Berk, where Vikings and dragons have long been enemies, the film follows Hiccup’s daring choice to befriend a dragon instead of slaying it. In a moving moment from the trailer, a hesitant Hiccup reaches out to Toothless, earning his trust — a scene that mirrors the heart of the original film.
