Charli XCX is teaming up with legendary Japanese director Takashi Miike for a new film. This marks the second project Charli is producing under her Studio365 banner, following the upcoming A24 movie The Moment. While plot details remain secret, Miike is famous for his extreme horror classics like Audition and Ichi the Killer. The screenplay is written by Ross Evans, known for How to Save a Marriage, which Robert Pattinson is producing.
Since releasing her Grammy-winning album Brat in 2024, Charli has shifted focus to acting and producing, with a slate of exciting projects lined up. Besides The Moment, she stars in Julia Jackman’s fantasy 100 Nights of Hero, Pete Ohs and Jeremy O. Harris’ Erupcja, Daniel Goldhaber’s horror remake Faces of Death, Gregg Araki’s I Want Your Sex, Romain Gavras’ comedy Sacrifice, and Cathy Yan’s thriller The Gallerist.
Miike, a prolific filmmaker with over 100 films since 1991, spans genres from horror to samurai epics. His notable works include Dead or Alive, Visitor Q, One Missed Call, and the upcoming Tribeca premiere Sham.
