Mirror, mirror, on the wall… Disney's classic Snow White is getting a live-action remake!
The adaptation of the 1937 animated classic — Disney’s first-ever princess film — is set to hit theaters on March 21, 2025. Directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man), the film stars Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen.
Webb revealed to Variety in October 2024 that Zegler was a natural fit for the role, with the script supervisor moved to tears by her singing. Praising her "grace, poise, and goodness," Webb said these qualities made her perfect for Snow White.
While the story remains true to the original battle between Snow White and the Evil Queen, Zegler hinted at modern updates. Speaking to Variety in June 2022, she said: "It’s no longer 1937. Snow White isn’t waiting for a prince or dreaming of love—she’s dreaming of becoming the fearless leader her father believed she could be."

The Cast
01. Rachel Zegler as Snow White
Zegler plays the titular princess, who in the animated original is forced into servitude by her evil stepmother. Though the remake introduces new elements, such as the dwarves' central role, the character’s name now stems from her survival of a childhood snowstorm, symbolizing resilience. Known for her breakout role as María in West Side Story (2021), Zegler has since starred in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023) and made her Broadway debut in Romeo & Juliet.
02. Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen
Gadot portrays the iconic villain determined to maintain her power at any cost, even transforming into a hag. She described the role as an "incredible process" involving singing, dancing, and hours of makeup to create the Queen’s transformation.
Best known for Wonder Woman (2017) and Fast & Furious (2009), Gadot said playing the Evil Queen allowed her to explore a role far removed from her usual characters.

03. Andrew Burnap as Jonathan
Burnap takes on the new role of Jonathan, replacing the original prince. While tight-lipped about details, he described Jonathan as a "reluctant hero" rather than a traditional prince.
Burnap won a Tony Award in 2021 for The Inheritance and is known for roles in The Chaperone (2018) and WeCrashed.
04. Ansu Kabia as the Huntsman
Kabia plays the Evil Queen’s servant, a key figure from the original story. The actor has appeared in Murder on the Orient Express (2017) and TV's Miss Scarlet & the Duke.
05. Emilia Faucher as Young Snow White
Faucher portrays a young Snow White. Sharing her excitement on Instagram, she called the role a “dream come true.” Known for CODA (2021), Faucher’s upcoming projects include Rosario (2025).
