The reopening of the Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris took place five years after a devastating fire. Salma Hayek Pinault and her husband François-Henri Pinault, chairman and CEO of Kering, were among the dignitaries attending the ceremony, which also saw around 50 heads of state and government in attendance.
Hayek exuded elegance in a fur-trimmed green coat paired with a striking three-strand pearl necklace. Her ensemble was completed with diamond-encrusted pearl drop earrings and a sophisticated updo.
Kering, under Pinault's leadership, donated $113 million towards the restoration of Notre-Dame following the 2019 fire that destroyed its iconic spire designed by architect Eugène Viollet-le-Duc. The meticulous reconstruction, involving hundreds of millions of euros and the expertise of around 250 companies, aimed to preserve the cathedral's Gothic essence.
Around 50 world leaders were in attendance, as well as prominent figures such as François-Henri Pinault, Jill Biden, Ashley Biden, Elon Musk, and Prince William, highlighting the event's global cultural and historical importance. This gathering signifies a significant moment in the cathedral's long history of more than 850 years.
Hayek and Pinault, who tied the knot in 2009 and have a daughter named Valentina, who was also present. In March 2023, Hayek and Valentina attended the Saint Laurent fall 2023 runway show together at Paris Fashion Week, where the actress stunned in a dark green ensemble. She donned a mock turtleneck dress, a contrasting blazer, and accessorized with an envelope clutch from Saint Laurent, which is under the ownership of Kering. Apart from Saint Laurent, Kering also boasts ownership of luxury brands such as Gucci, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, and more.
Last November, Hayek donned a dark green outfit for the annual Baby2Baby Gala where she received the Giving Tree award from Kim Kardashian for her philanthropic efforts. She looked stunning in a custom emerald sequined halter neck gown by Bottega Veneta, paired with Boucheron diamond drop earrings and a Gucci ring.
Her upcoming project, 'Sacrifice,' features Hayek alongside Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Evans, and is being directed by Romain Gavras with no release date announced yet.
