The show centers on Riri Williams, a young tech genius introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, who finally gets her solo spotlight in this six-episode series premiering June 25.
The series picks up after the events of Wakanda Forever, following Riri as she returns to her Chicago hometown to continue developing her custom iron suits. Her intelligence draws the attention of dangerous foes, especially Parker Robbins, aka The Hood — a villain who combines street crime with dark magic. The clash between science and supernatural elements becomes a key theme, adding depth and excitement to the story.
Dominique Thorne reprises her role as Riri Williams, joined by Anthony Ramos, Lyric Ross, Alden Ehrenreich and others. The show is led by head writer Chinaka Hodge and directed by Sam Bailey and Angela Barnes. Executive producers include Marvel’s Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Ryan Coogler, and more. Music is composed by Dara Taylor, with production in partnership with Coogler’s Proximity Media.
Riri Williams first appeared in Marvel Comics in 2016, created by Brian Michael Bendis. Initially envisioned as Tony Stark’s successor, her character evolved into a hero rooted in Chicago’s community — focusing on innovation, identity, and resilience.
With Ryan Coogler’s recent success on Sinners, anticipation for Ironheart is high.
