Home Alone: A Classic and a Family Affair
Most viewers have probably seen Home Alone at least once in their lives. But few know that the younger brother of the main character, Fuller, is actually the real-life brother of Macaulay Culkin, who played Kevin. Here’s a look at what Kieran Culkin is up to now and how his career has unfolded.
Kieran Culkin’s Career Journey
Born into the family of Broadway actor Christopher Cornelius Culkin, Kieran grew up surrounded by a creative atmosphere. He made his stage debut at just two years old at the Symphony Space theater and appeared in the iconic Home Alone at the age of eight.
Kieran didn’t remain in the shadow of his older brother. His first notable role came in the drama The Mighty (1998), after which his career took off. He starred in projects such as Father of the Bride, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys, Igby Goes Down, and, of course, the acclaimed series Succession.
It was Succession that marked a turning point for Culkin. His role in the series earned him a Golden Globe nomination. Kieran admitted that working on the show helped him fully embrace his calling.
"When we finished filming the first season, I went home and realized, 'This is what I want to do for the rest of my life. I want to be an actor,' " Kieran shared in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
Personal Life
Kieran’s personal life is just as successful. In 2013, he married model Jazz Charton. The couple has two children: a daughter born in 2019 and a son who arrived in 2021.
