Production Weekly and UK Production News have listed Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II for a shoot scheduled in “late spring” 2025 in London.
The current plan is to start production in May in the UK, even though Reeves has yet to submit the complete script to DCU co-chairs James Gunn and Peter Safran. It’s important to note that Reeves has been providing the script in segments rather than all at once.
Furthermore, Reeves has been working on the script since “late 2022,” and the various elements are finally coming together. There is a consensus that what’s being developed will “blow away” fans who have been eagerly awaiting the sequel.
Regarding a potential scheduling conflict for Robert Pattinson, who is set to shoot Christopher Nolan’s next film in late January, one of the sources indicated that this is not a significant concern, and the actor will be available when filming for the Batman sequel begins.
Additionally, I can confirm that Greig Fraser will return as the cinematographer. This may not be great news for Dune fans, as I’ve heard that Dune: Messiah is expected to start production in July/August, while Reeves’ Batman sequel is slated to shoot for “4-5 months.”
As for casting in The Batman: Part II, there’s no official word yet, but in addition to Pattinson, we can expect Zoë Kravitz, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, and Colin Farrell to reprise their roles.
