Two-time Oscar winner Christoph Waltz has joined the cast of Only Murders in the Building Season 5 in a recurring role, as reported by Variety. He joins previously announced cast member Keegan-Michael Key, while details about his character and the plot remain under wraps. Production for the new season is currently underway.
Waltz earned both of his Academy Awards for his work with Quentin Tarantino, winning Best Supporting Actor for Inglourious Basterds in 2010 and Django Unchained in 2013. He has also received Golden Globes and BAFTA Awards for these films. His filmography includes roles in Dead for a Dollar, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, and Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch. Additionally, he portrayed the iconic villain Blofeld in the James Bond films Spectre and No Time to Die.
In television, Waltz earned an Emmy nomination for the Quibi series Most Dangerous Game and starred in Amazon's The Consultant. The fourth season of Only Murders in the Building aired in 2024, featuring stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez, along with guest appearances from Meryl Streep, Eugene Levy, and others. Co-created by Martin and John Hoffman, the series is produced by 20th Television.
