Meyers, 75, who wrote and directed the film, reconnected with Law, 51, on Thursday, Dec. 12, following his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. The Holiday, starring Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz, tells the story of two women who swap homes across the Atlantic. Law plays Graham, Winslet's widowed brother, who falls for Diaz's character, while Jack Black portrays a film composer who romances Winslet’s character.
"Congrats Jude! I was thrilled to be at a lunch for Jude today and I had one question for him…," Meyers captioned an Instagram video featuring Law.
In the clip, the camera pans to Law as Meyers says, "Look who I’m having lunch with today. Jude Law! Congratulations on your so well-deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. That’s amazing."
The pair share their excitement at reuniting, and Meyers adds, "I don’t think I’ve seen you since we wrapped The Holiday. Speaking of which, I’ve seen you interviewed a lot, and they keep asking if there’s going to be a sequel. What do you think?"
Law then humorously nods to his iconic 'Mr. Napkin Head' moment from the film by placing a napkin and glasses over his head, eliciting laughter from those around him.
Fans quickly flocked to the comment section, expressing their desire for a sequel.
"This is not the time of year to be messing around with our hearts, Nancy!😩🥰" one fan joked. Another added, "For the love of god, please give us a sequel😩😩😩😩 we are dying without a new Nancy Meyers movie!!!"
While no sequel has been officially announced, Law shared his thoughts on the idea with E! News in June, saying he "love(s) the idea" of revisiting the story. "Why not?" he said.
"I think Graham still has cardigans and glasses, and reads. He’s probably worried sick about the girls, right? [His] daughters will be 28, 29," Law mused.
Law is currently starring in the Disney+ Star Wars series Skeleton Crew, with new episodes releasing every Tuesday.
