Michelle Trachtenberg, an actress best known for her roles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl, has tragically passed away at the age of 39.
Trachtenberg was discovered dead by her mother on Wednesday morning in her New York City apartment near Columbus Circle, shortly after 8 a.m. local time, according to police sources who spoke with ABC News.

Trachtenberg showcased her versatility across various genres. In the film EuroTrip (2004), she portrayed Jenny, a spirited traveller navigating Europe's adventures. Her role as Casey Carlyle in Ice Princess (2005) highlighted her talent in portraying a figure skater's journey. Additionally, she appeared in the television series Six Feet Under (2004) as Celeste, a character entangled in the complex dynamics of a funeral home family. These performances underscore her range beyond her most famous roles. However, probably her most memorable appearance was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer as Dawn Summers, a role that made a lasting impact on fans. She also portrayed Georgina Sparks in Gossip Girl, further cementing her place in popular culture.
