Parker Posey is the latest addition to Martin McDonagh’s upcoming film Wild Horse Nine, marking another high-profile role for the actress ahead of her much-anticipated appearance in HBO’s The White Lotus Season 3. The film, backed by Searchlight Pictures, Blueprint Pictures, and Film4, reunites McDonagh with the studio behind his acclaimed The Banshees of Inisherin, which earned nine Oscar nominations in 2022.
A Mystery Wrapped in Secrecy
While plot details remain tightly under wraps, Wild Horse Nine has been in development for several years. The project was originally announced in 2021 at AFM, with Searchlight securing the rights and Sam Rockwell attached to star. Initially, the cast included Oscar Isaac and Christopher Walken, but both actors have since exited the production.
Joining Rockwell are John Malkovich, Mark Ruffalo, and now Parker Posey, further cementing the film as one of McDonagh’s most anticipated projects. Filming is set to begin next month on Rapa Nui (Easter Island), an isolated Chilean territory famous for its breathtaking landscapes and ancient Moai statues.
