The Simpsons turns 35 years old on screen in december. During this time, the creators have released over 700 episodes. Even those who haven't closely followed the stories of the main characters have surely seen these yellow figures on screen. Moreover, The Simpsons became famous for containing fairly accurate descriptions of events that occurred just a few years later: from inventions to political shifts. Fans began to consider the animated series prophetic and constructed conspiracy theories about why its creators seem to shape human destinies.
Showrunner Matt Groening modestly explained such predictions as mere coincidences and stated that many of the other things depicted in The Simpsons never came to pass. We have gathered five prophecies from the cartoon that have indeed not yet come to life.
The first female president of America
In the 17th episode of the 11th season, Lisa obtained the coveted position. This is the sister that Bart saw when he accidentally traveled to the future. It was then stated that the character is the first female head of state in American history.
By the way, in another episode, Homer shows a campaign button that reads "Ivanka 2028." This refers to Ivanka Trump, who, apparently, will be running for president.
Baby Translator
In the 24th episode of the 3rd season of The Simpsons, an unusual device was shown. It allowed adults to understand babies who couldn't talk yet. With its help, the characters finally understood what Maggie had been trying to say all this time while she was just sucking on her pacifier.
"I need you to pay more attention to me and not forget to play," was what the translator conveyed.
Digital Big Ben
In the 19th episode of the 6th season, viewers were introduced to an unusual version of the famous Big Ben clock in London. Instead of a traditional, there was an electronic display.
Moreover, the time displayed was frozen at 12:00. This served as a hint that people are too lazy to set the time on electronic devices.
Colonization of Mars
In the 16th episode of the 27th season, Lisa signed up to be sent to Mars to live in a base there. Along with her, the entire family joined the mission.
During the first week, it was Marge and Lisa who spent time in a simulator for life on Mars, and then they made their launch. However, it later turned out that the spaceship where the heroines were placed was a fake and had not actually left Earth. Nevertheless, at the end of the episode, viewers were shown a brief scene from the Red Planet, where it was claimed that a human colony had already been established in 2051.
Robot Uprising
In the 4th episode of the 6th season, the Simpsons go to an amusement park. The park specializes in high technology and is located on a remote island. There, guests are entertained by special robots.
However, that day the electronic components of the animators malfunction, and they intend to destroy all moving objects. One can hope that a real robot uprising will not come to pass, but such predictions are regularly discussed by technophobes.
