Kate Winslet is making her directorial debut with Netflix’s upcoming contemporary family drama, Goodbye June. Known for her iconic roles on screen, Winslet is now taking on the challenge of directing, while also producing and starring in the film.
Joining Winslet on screen is a stellar cast including Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall, and Helen Mirren. Behind the scenes, Winslet teams up with producer Kate Solomon and Working Title as executive producers.
The screenplay, written by Winslet's son Joe Anders, is set in present-day England. It tells the heartfelt story of a fractured group of siblings who must come together when faced with sudden and challenging circumstances.

Production for Goodbye June is set to begin later this year on location in the U.K. While this marks Winslet's first time in the director's chair, she has already made an impact behind the scenes as a producer for Ellen Kuras's Lee, in which she also starred as American photographer Lee Miller. This role earned her and Solomon a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding British Film.
With an acclaimed cast, a deeply personal script, and Winslet at the helm, Goodbye June is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Netflix releases in the coming years.
