Joseph Quinn has been cast as George Harrison in a series of four Beatles biopics. The ‘Stranger Things’ star has been selected by director Sam Mendes to bring the late musician to life in films that will explore the story of the Fab Four from each member's unique perspective.
A source revealed to The Sun: “Joe is an incredible actor. It's a massive role, but Sam is delighted to have him on board.”

This project marks the first time that Apple Corps Ltd and the surviving members of The Beatles—Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Ringo Starr—as well as the families of John Lennon and George Harrison have granted full-life story and music rights for a scripted film.
Quinn's previous work includes roles in major films like ‘A Quiet Place: Day One’ and the upcoming ‘Gladiator II.’ He is also set to portray Johnny Storm/The Human Torch in ‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps,’ which is scheduled for release next year.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Paul Mescal and Barry Keoghan are also on board to star in Mendes’ Beatles films, portraying McCartney and Starr, respectively.

The films are being produced by Sony Pictures in collaboration with Mendes’ Neal Street Productions and are expected to begin filming in mid-2025, aiming for a theatrical release in 2027. It hasn't been confirmed whether all four films will be released simultaneously or staggered throughout the year, but Sony has promised an “innovative release cadence.”
Mendes initially pitched the idea of creating four films about the legendary band last year and impressed Sony executives Tom Rothman and Elizabeth Gabler with his vision. The ‘Skyfall’ director shared with Deadline, “We went out to Los Angeles just before Christmas to pitch the project, and it’s fair to say we were met with universal enthusiasm. The reason Sony stood out from competing offers was down to Tom and Elizabeth’s passion for the idea, and commitment to propelling these films theatrically in an innovative and exciting way.”
