The trailer for the biographical film about the outstanding Italian artist and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani titled Modi: Three Days on the Wings of Madness was released. The director is Johnny Depp, while the lead role is played by Riccardo Scamarcio (John Wick 2). The film is based on the play by Dennis McIntyre titled Modigliani.
The action unfolds in war-torn Paris in 1916. As the title suggests, the film will cover three eventful days in the life of Modigliani (Scamarcio). Hiding from the police, he plans to pursue his artistic career and leave the city. However, the artist's friends Maurice Utrillo (Bruno Guéry) and Chaïm Soutine (Ryan McPartlin), as well as his muse Beatrice Hastings (Antonia Desplat), oppose this. Modigliani then seeks advice from art dealer Leopold Zborowski (Stephen Graham). After a night full of hallucinations, Modigliani's spirit and mind reach a crescendo when he meets collector Maurice Gangnat (Al Pacino), who has the power to change his life.
The world premiere of Modi: Three Days on the Wings of Madness took place at the San Sebastián Film Festival. The film was later shown at the Rome Film Festival, where Depp was awarded a lifetime achievement award.
