Director McG is making a return to the big screen with a new project that’s as loud and theatrical as they come — a biopic about legendary rock band KISS. Titled Shout It Out Loud, the film will follow the band’s early days in 1970s New York, where they built their reputation with outrageous makeup, towering platform boots, and stage shows full of fire, smoke, and fake blood.
Nick Jonas is said to be in final talks to play frontman Paul Stanley, trading pop ballads for face paint and spandex. The casting for Gene Simmons, KISS’s famously tongue-wielding bassist, is still underway, but the project already has full backing from STX and is moving forward.
McG, known for fast-paced action and glossy visuals in films like Charlie's Angels, seems like a bold choice — especially considering his more recent detour into Netflix comedies. Still, with a band as over-the-top as KISS, it might just be the right kind of chaos.

Like many recent music biopics, this one aims to bring a larger-than-life story to the screen. And with this mix of rock history, big personalities, and even bigger stage antics, Shout It Out Loud has every chance of making some noise.
