This marked the second Golden Globes ceremony since the Hollywood Foreign Press Association was replaced following it's acquisition by Dick Clark Productions and Eldridge. Instead of the HFPA, a diverse group of journalists from around the globe now votes on nominees and winners. (Dick Clark Productions is now responsible for owning and producing the Golden Globe Awards as part of a joint venture with Penske Media Corporation and Eldridge, which also owns The Hollywood Reporter.)

The 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards aired live from the Beverly Hilton on CBS and streamed on Paramount+, with Emmy-winning producers Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner serving as showrunners for the second consecutive year.
