HBO has released the first teaser for Duster, starring Josh Holloway and Rachel Hilson. It's the new series from J.J. Abrams, which he co-wrote with LaToya Morgan.
Set in 1972, the series follows the first Black female FBI agent, played by Rachel Hilson, as she travels to the Southwest to recruit a daring getaway driver, portrayed by Josh Holloway, in a bold mission to dismantle a rising crime syndicate led by Keith David. However, true to J.J. Abrams' style, the plot is anything but straightforward.
The result is a vibrant and energetic retro crime thriller that embraces its '70s aesthetic, featuring Hilson as a feisty and determined agent and Holloway showcasing his trademark cocky charisma.
For Abrams, Duster marks the latest addition to his post-Rise of Skywalker projects, which also include executive producing Apple TV+'s Presumed Innocent. LaToya Morgan, a writer and producer known for her work on Showtime's Shameless and AMC's Turn: Washington's Spies, is also involved in the series. The cast includes Sydney Elisabeth, Camille Guaty, Asivak Koostachin, Adriana Aluna Martinez, Benjamin Charles Watson, and, of course, Abrams' frequent collaborator, Greg Grunberg.
