The first part of the film trilogy The Lord of the Rings was released on screens back in 2001. The main role of the hobbit Frodo Baggins was played by 20-year-old American actor Elijah Wood.
For the young artist, this was far from his first major project. Wood made his film debut at the age of eight in Back to the Future Part II. A year later, the young star attracted public attention with his performance in the film Avalon, where Elijah played the son of Aidan Quinn.
Before The Lord of the Rings, the American actor also appeared in films such as Forever Young, The Adventures of Huck Finn, The War, Deep Impact, and The Faculty.
Even after the release of the famous saga, Elijah Wood did not fade away in Hollywood. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Green Street (Green Street Hooligans in the US), Sin City, Maniac, Come to Daddy, and No Man of God are just some of his film works.
For a long time, there was a joke among the actor's fans that 43-year-old Wood would never age, as the celebrity had remained remarkably youthful for many years. However, in recent photos, it is clear that the on-screen Frodo is no longer a fiery young man: he has grayed and grown a little beard.
Nevertheless, the changes suit Elijah Wood. In 2018, the star got married and soon welcomed a son and a daughter. The successful actor and father of two has clearly outgrown the image of the eternal boy.
