It’s a family affair in Season 2 of Netflix’s hit series Wednesday. During the streamer’s upfront presentation in New York City, a new portrait of the Addams Family was unveiled, teasing a season that will delve deeper into Wednesday’s loved ones. The cast includes Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, Luis Guzmán as Gomez, Joanna Lumley as Grandmama, Joonas Suotamo as Lurch, Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.
Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, Wednesday follows the titular character at Nevermore Academy, where she hones her emerging psychic powers. In Season 1, she uncovered a murder connected to her parents — Morticia and Gomez — who met at the school 15 years earlier.
Season 2 will spotlight Wednesday more than ever before, exploring her relationship with Morticia’s mother-daughter bond and introducing new family members. Zeta-Jones, Guzmán, and Ordonez (who plays Pugsley) have been promoted to series regulars for this season. Additionally, a spinoff focusing on Uncle Fester (previously guest-starred by Fred Armisen) is in development from Netflix and MGM Television. A recent trailer revealed Wednesday’s return to Nevermore, where she will reunite with her roommate Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers).
Zeta-Jones teased that this season will be “bigger and more twisted than you could ever imagine,” while Ortega shared that the episodes will lean more into horror compared to the first season’s teen romance focus.
