The first reactions to Disney's new adaptation of the classic fairy tale Snow White, starring Gal Gadot and Rachel Zegler, have been unexpectedly positive.
This comes as a surprise, given that after the release of the initial trailer, much of the attention was centred around the casting choices — particularly the decision to make the Evil Queen more beautiful than Snow White herself. Additionally, the recent political disagreement between Gadot and Zegler had raised concerns, with some fearing it might disrupt the production and impact the box office.
However, early reviews ahead of the film's March 21, 2025 release have been largely favourable. Critics have praised Rachel Zegler's portrayal of Snow White, with Katcy Stephan from Variety describing her as a "shining supernova" and lauding the film’s fresh musical numbers.

The film has also earned praise for its striking visual aesthetics and captivating performances. Skyler Shuler from The DisInsider called it "PURE DISNEY MAGIC," highlighting its enchanting animation and vibrant visuals. Time Out echoed this, referring to the movie as a "visual feast" and noting the memorable musical numbers and lively colour palette. Similarly, MovieMaze commended the adaptation for providing a "new perspective on a beloved tale with stunning visuals and strong performances."
