This film marks the continuation of Moresco's collaboration with Italian producer Andrea Iervolino, known for ‘Ferrari’. ‘Bugatti’ is scheduled to begin filming in late 2025 in Italy and France under Iervolino’s new production banner, The Andrea Iervolino Company. The film is expected to have an English-language format and will feature both U.S. and international cast members. Moresco is co-writing the script with Amanda Moresco and Soraya Azzabi.
The biopic will explore the life of Bugatti, the founder of the renowned automobile company, who revolutionized the automotive industry with his innovative designs and unwavering commitment to technology. The Italian-born French designer was also involved in the design of airplane engines and faced personal tragedy; his son, Jean, lost his life in a car testing accident near the family factory in Germany on August 11, 1939, at the age of 30.
Moresco and Iervolino have previously partnered on ‘Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend’ and are currently in production on ‘Maserati: The Brothers’, which Moresco is also directing. This upcoming film features a star-studded cast, including Anthony Hopkins, Michele Morrone, Andy Garcia, and Jessica Alba. Although Moresco was once announced as the director for Iervolino's film ‘Ferrari Vs. Mercedes’, he is no longer attached to that project.
