In a recent interview, Murray shared his enthusiasm for the holiday season and the magic that Christmas movies bring to audiences. He emphasized the joy of storytelling during this time of year and how a film featuring both him and Lohan could capture the spirit of the holidays.
"I think it would be amazing to work with Lindsay again," he said. "We have such great chemistry, and I believe we could create something really special that resonates with fans."
“If we had the opportunity, it’d be great,” Murray told the publication about potentially doing another holiday movie in the future, with Lohan as his co-star. “For us to be able to come back together at this time where we just got done filming a movie, and now here we are both celebrating two Christmas movies at the same place, with Netflix, and they’re a week or two away from each other, is pretty cool.”
He added: “We were kind of all over the place when we were doing Freaky Friday 2 — so to be able to sit down and do something where it was just her and I carrying the world and both our families can come to set, it would be a really beautiful thing.”
In the upcoming sequel to Freaky Friday, Murray and Lohan will reprise their beloved roles as Jake and Anna from the original 2003 film. Jamie Lee Curtis is also set to return as Tess, joined by Mark Harmon, Rosalind Chao, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, and Stephen Tobolowsky. The cast will also feature newcomers Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Manny Jacinto, and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, adding fresh talent to the franchise.

The forthcoming film will explore the lives of Anna and Tess two decades after the events of the original movie. Anna is now a mother with a daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As both families work through the complexities of blending their lives, the mother-daughter pair of Anna and Tess discover that history has a way of repeating itself.
As the holiday season approaches, the demand for feel-good Christmas movies continues to grow. Networks and streaming platforms are always on the lookout for fresh content that can capture the hearts of viewers. A project featuring Murray and Lohan could not only attract their dedicated fan bases but also introduce their talents to a new generation of audiences.
While there are no official plans yet, the prospect of Chad Michael Murray and Lindsay Lohan teaming up for a Christmas movie has fans eagerly anticipating what could be a delightful addition to the holiday film lineup. As both actors continue to evolve in their careers, a collaboration could serve as a nostalgic reminder of their early days in Hollywood while also showcasing their growth as performers.
