Chad Michael Murray is more than open to his kids joining him in the entertainment industry.
The 43-year-old star of 'The Merry Gentleman' recently spoke with Interview Magazine about whether he would want his three children—a 9-year-old son, a 6-year-old daughter, and a daughter born in August 2023, whom he shares with his wife, actress Sarah Roemer—to pursue acting careers.
"I’m 99.99999% sure my daughter will follow suit quite soon," Murray shared. "And then I’d say my son, that’s not something he wants to do."
As for his youngest, he added with a laugh, "The new one, she’s only 15 months. We’ll let her figure it out. But would I be supportive? One hundred percent."
Murray went on to explain how he would have appreciated having someone to guide him when he first entered Hollywood.
"I wish that I had a kindred spirit over my shoulder to guide me and help me when I first came in," he said. "It’s not that I want to be a ‘no’ person for my daughter, but I want to pave the road and say, 'Here are the consequences of action A, B, C, and D. This is how you conduct yourself on a set. I want you to be over-prepared so that no matter what comes your way, you’re ready for it.'"
In a separate interview with Variety in November, the One Tree Hill alum opened up about life as a father of three. He affectionately refers to his family of five as 'The Pack,' a nickname inspired by their habit of traveling together to all of his work locations.
"I want to be there," Murray explained. "I got to be there for my daughter’s first steps. I got to take her trick-or-treating for the first time."
"And she crushed it!" he added proudly.
Murray relocated his family to Halifax, Nova Scotia, for the filming of Sullivan’s Crossing, where he embraced the city and its community. Alongside his acting career, he also stays active as a coach for his son’s football team, which, at the time, was headed for the playoffs.
