It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia returns to FXX for its 17th season on July 9, featuring the second and final crossover episode with ABC’s Abbott Elementary. Earlier this year, the gang from Paddy’s Pub appeared in season four of Abbott, helping out at the school to fulfill court-ordered community service.
In the new season’s episode titled “The Gang Embraces The Corporate Era,” viewers will see how Janine (Quinta Brunson), Barbara (Sheryl Lee Ralph), and the teachers fit into the world of Paddy’s Pub as the show explores themes of greed and the New American Dream.
Brunson praised the collaboration, calling it a natural fit given both shows’ Philly settings. Charlie Day admitted initial hesitation about blending the characters but embraced the creative vision after working closely with Brunson and her team.
