Atom Egoyan and Amanda Seyfried are back in action together. The 39-year-old Oscar-nominated actress and the renowned director have decided to collaborate once again for a psychological thriller-drama.
In this gripping new film, called Seven Veils, Seyfried plays Jeanine, a theater director who returns to the opera world after many years. She is tasked with staging a famous work by her former mentor, but things don’t go as planned. Haunted by dark memories from her past, Jeanine’s repressed trauma begins to affect both her personal and professional life, causing everything around her to fall apart. Atom Egoyan reunites with Seyfried in this visually striking film, filmed on location during the production of his acclaimed play Salome.
It is noticeable that, after two years since its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), the movie Seven Veils will now be shown on TV.
This is their second collaboration, following their work together on the 2020 drama Guest of Honour. In that film, Seyfried played a woman dealing with complicated relationships with her father and the secrets from their past, while Egoyan brought his unique storytelling style to the project. Their first collaboration received critical praise, leading to their reunion for this intense new thriller.
