During Star Wars Celebration in Japan, Hayden Christensen confirmed what fans have been whispering in force-fueled corners of the internet: he’s back as Anakin Skywalker in Ahsoka Season 2. And from the sound of it, this might just be the beginning of a deeper dive into Vader’s tortured legacy.
"There’s a lot that we could still explore with Vader," Christensen told ComicBook, reflecting on the emotional and psychological weight Anakin carried after Revenge of the Sith. "Everything that he has to reconcile after he’s trapped in this new version of himself… there’s just a lot of very rich stories that we could still tell."
First stepping into Anakin’s boots in 2002’s Attack of the Clones, Christensen weathered early criticism and eventually earned a cult-like reverence from fans. He reprised the role in 2005’s Revenge of the Sith, and again — dramatically — in Disney+’s Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022), where his return as Darth Vader opposite Ewan McGregor reignited the saga’s emotional core.

Now, Ahsoka promises to expand the mythos even further. Whether as a Force ghost, a flashback, or something entirely unexpected, Christensen’s return has weight — not just for the story, but for the entire Star Wars legacy.
And he’s ready for more:
"I’d love to get to continue with it… hopefully we’ll get to do more of it."

One thing’s clear — Anakin Skywalker’s story isn’t over. Not by a long shot.
