Although it’s hard to imagine a modern Bond without Daniel Craig, there was a time when other contenders tried their luck. One of them, though charming, was simply too young for such a serious role.
Leaked footage on YouTube a few days ago reveals that Henry Cavill was among the actors who tried his luck auditioning for the iconic role of James Bond.
The video shows Cavill with long hair, delivering classic lines from GoldenEye, the film that introduced Pierce Brosnan as Bond before Daniel Craig. In the clip, Cavill is asked to perform multiple takes of famous lines like "Bond, James Bond" and "vodka martini, shaken, not stirred."
Many users commented on YouTube, agreeing that Cavill was too young at the time to step into Bond's shoes, but now would be the perfect moment for him to try his luck.
"Henry Cavill is 41 he is not to old to play James Bond. Daniel Craig was 38 years old when he was cast as James Bond. Pierce Brosnan was 41 years old when he first played the role of James Bond. Timothy Dalton was 41 years old when he was cast as James Bond," one of them wrote.
"Wasnt right for the role then but he is now," another user agreed.
"He's definitely a much better actor now than he was then".
