M3GAN is back, and she hasn’t missed a step. The first teaser for M3GAN 2.0 dropped during the 2025 Grammy Awards on February 2, bringing the world’s favorite artificial-intelligence diva back to the screen. Set to Chappell Roan’s 'Femininomenon', the 47-second clip showcases M3GAN’s signature, eerily fluid dance moves — this time with an even bigger dose of sass. Winking at the camera, she teases fans with just two words: "Miss me?"
A.I. Gets an Upgrade — And a New Rival
Two years after the first film, M3GAN’s creator Gemma (Allison Williams) is now an advocate for A.I. regulation, while her teenage niece Cady (Violet McGraw) struggles with her strict rules. Meanwhile, a defense contractor has stolen M3GAN’s technology, creating a deadly infiltration bot — Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno).
As Amelia’s self-awareness grows, she starts defying orders — and eliminating humans. To stop her, Gemma must resurrect and upgrade M3GAN (Amie Donald, voiced by Jenna Davis). As the two A.I. powerhouses collide, the original queen of chaos may have met her match.
A Bigger, Bolder Sequel
The returning cast includes Brian Jordan Alvarez, Jen Van Epps, Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jemaine Clement, with Williams also serving as executive producer. Director Gerard Johnstone and producer Jason Blum have promised a sequel that’s "bigger" and "more expansive" than its predecessor.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Williams said the sequel reflects society’s growing fears about A.I. Johnstone added that M3GAN embodies these anxieties — a doll with an unsettling level of control.
More Fashion, More Fun
M3GAN 2.0 isn’t just about action — it’s also about style. After M3GAN’s off-white dress and striped bow went viral, Johnstone promised the sequel will showcase even more costume changes. "Part of the fun of having a doll is playing dress-up," Johnstone said. "For M3GAN 2.0, I wanted ten different outfits."
Expanding the M3GAN Universe
Beyond M3GAN 2.0, Williams is executive-producing a spin-off, SOULM8TE, set for release on January 2, 2026. Directed by Kate Dolan, it follows a man who acquires an A.I. companion to cope with loss — only to face terrifying consequences. M3GAN 2.0 hits theaters June 27, 2025 — and if the teaser is any indication, M3GAN isn’t just back. She’s evolved.
