'Carrie's Decisions Can Be Controversial': Sarah Jessica Parker Responds to Criticism of Her 'Sex and the City' Character

Sarah Jessica Parker

The actress does not take haters' comments seriously.

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker, who played the iconic role of Carrie Bradshaw in the TV series Sex and the City and its sequel And Just Like That, responded to criticism of her character. Earlier, her colleague on the project Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte, said that the blonde is worried about the comments of ill-wishers about the character. Many criticize Carrie's actions, believing that she is a terrible person.

However, as it turned out, Parker is absolutely independent of other people's opinions. And she has a specific reason for this.

What does Sarah Jessica Parker think about Carrie Bradshaw

The 60-year-old actress said that she was never upset about Carrie's decisions in the series, despite the fact that some fans called her character "the worst of all." Parker admitted that although the character had controversial moments in her behavior, she did not take criticism to heart. Much of that attitude comes from her trust in showrunner Michael Patrick King.

And Just Like That still

“I feel like I have total trust in Michael and his incredible writers. While I understand that sometimes Carrie’s decisions can be controversial or upsetting or make people feel strongly, it’s still incredibly fun,” Parker explained on Today with Jenna & Friends.

The actress played Carrie on Sex and the City from 1998 to 2004, for six seasons. Two films followed. She’s now back in the role for And Just Like That.

Season 3 of Just Like That

Parker also hinted at what will happen in the third season of the project. She explained that work on the sequel took 7 months.

“I can just say that there will be big stories in which there is a lot of love, finding your place and home in the world. Big adult themes will be told with a bit of levity, in beautiful costumes, in the city that we all love,” the star said.

The third season of Just Like That will be released on May 29.
