Sigourney Weaver will appear in the new Star Wars film. It seems that any actor would eagerly accept an offer to join such a legendary franchise, but Sigourney has her own reasons. The actress stars in The Mandalorian & Grogu, continuing the story of Din Djarin and Grogu as they escape Imperial forces. The film follows the events after the successful Mandalorian TV series.
Weaver shared her excitement about joining the Star Wars universe in an interview with GamesRadar+, revealing that her decision to sign on was driven by the adorable, Force-sensitive Grogu. Despite her hesitation to join another franchise, it was Grogu that convinced her to take part in the movie. Weaver explained that her main reason for joining the film was the chance to have scenes with Grogu, saying,
"I get to have scenes with a little Grogu, which is probably why I did the movie. And he's a little badass too."
She also expressed excitement about what Grogu is up to now, noting that he's grown and is capable of much more than what viewers might expect from the series. While she admires Star Wars, Weaver admitted she doesn’t often wish to join another franchise, as she’s been lucky to be part of some great ones. However, when she was offered the role, she was thrilled, especially as a fan of Jon Favreau and The Mandalorian.
